ESAD SNEAK PEAK 2015 BLOG HOP

                 ESAD Info Retirement Colours-001

The Sneak Peak item I used is the 'Sprinkles of Life' stamp set.

For about the past 10 years the cup cake industry has been going through the roof and you see them instead of Birthday cakes, Christening cakes, Engagement and Wedding cakes etc..... In fact my Wedding cake comprised of many cup cakes back in 2008. We had a huge box of extra cup cakes so that every guest got one.

I decided to go with the tiered cupcakes in my pop up                                              Happy Birthday Explosion card.

Stamp sets- Sprinkles of Life, Something for Baby (little heart on background) and Crazy About You.
CS - Basic Grey, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Sarah Sand, Calypso Coral, Dafodil Delight and Lullaby DSP.
Ink- VersaMark and white embossing powder for cup cake tops, Soft Suede, StaZon jet black ( for candles) and Calypso Coral.
Accessories- Hello You Thinlits dies, Dimensionals, Tombo liquid glue and glue dots.

If you would like to know how this explosion card was created, the directions by Karen Burniston are in this LINK.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5P0ebNYWrw

ESAD Demo Designs Colour challenge

This is my entry for this weeks challenge. I didn't have all of the colours and so I did a little substituting.
Pool Party for Coastal Cabana and Mellon Mambo for Strawberry Slush.
I fussy cut the flowers and then used Mellon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant and Pool Party to paint over the flowers to change their colour. I added a few pearls and spritzed the flowers. I hope you like it. If you do leave me a comment.

Getting close to Mothers day so i have started making a few to give to my family.
Sarah Sand and Soft Suede,

Friday, April 3, 2015

This is the Just Add ink challenge for this week. Love the colours and rustic nature of the 1st pic. JAI challenges are lots of fun so you should pop over to their blog and see the creative designs the team have come up with to inspire us all. http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com.au/

I have been inspired by the first pic to create my entry this week.
The colours I have used are: Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Certainly Celery and Calypso Coral.
Vase =Apothercary Accents, top and bottom removed. Run through the big shot using Lattice  Embossing folder then VersaMarked and gold embossing powder then heat embossed. Mounted using dimensionals.
Flowers= Petite Petals on Velum using VersaMark and white embossing powder and heat embossed. Punched with Petite petals. Larger flowers are made using plain and sponged  lunch wrap. Punched using 8x 1 1/4"  and 8x 1 3/4"scalloped circle punch. 8x Pansy Punch.
Background is Sahara Sand card with hardwood stamp with Basic Black ink.
the timber look panels were rolled over a cylinder to give it a bit of a 3D look. ( not very noticeable)
'thank you' from Peaceful Petals (retired)
If you want to you can leave me a comment and follow my blog to see what is coming next. Happy Stampin'

This was going to be my entry to JAI's challenge this week but I wasn't really happy with it so I decided to have another try. Much happier with the next one. See below for the final entry.
Come and join in the fun at JAI  http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com.au/

This is my entry to JAI's challenge 256 I made one and wasn't really happy with it so I decided to do another and try to make it a bit more delicate by using Vellum for the flowers, leaves and butterfly wings. I also used a different flower and leaves. The little bees have acetate wings which makes them look more real. Much happier with the results. Thanks for visiting my blog. I would love you to leave a comment and let me know which one you prefer. I will post the original for you to compare.

There is a lot of fussy cutting to make this card so if you don't like fussy cutting it might not be the card to CASE.

Directions:-
Stamps= fabulous Florets, Nature Walk, Hello Doily, Weathered, En Francais, Elements of Style. Most of these are retired but I love them.
card stock= Naturals White, Whisper White, Sarah Sand, Vellum, Something Borrowed DSP.
Ink= sarah Sand, VersaMark, StazOn Black.
Extras= Pretty in Pink, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight.- Stampin' write markers. 5/8" Organza Ribbon. Sweetheart and Scalloped Tag Topper punches. Pearl Basic Jewels.
Glue= I used glue dots, Dimensional and Tombo multipurpose glue.

Method:  Cut from Naturals White card stock a square card. I just cut a strip off the side of an A4 sheet at 5 and 7/8ths. Use the off cut to make the top layer of the tag 1 6/8" x 4". Punch the top using Scalloped Tag Topper. Then stamp this using En Francais and sponge edges.
From Sarah Sand cut a 5 1/2" square and sponge the edges with Sarah Sand ink. Cut another piece of SS
5 1/4"x 5 1/4. Tear this piece diagonally and rough up the other 2 sides with a blade or scissors. Cut a piece 2" x 4 1/4 and Scallop Tag Top the top edge and sponge the edges. cut a piece of White Organza ribbon 7" long and join the two tags.
Cut DSP  5 1/4. Glue the triangle of SS to the DSP. cut a piece 2'' x 4 1/2 for the tag.
Stamp Hello Doily onto Whisper White using Sarah sand and fussy cut. mount this on the card using dimensionals. then mount the tags also using Dimensional. Stamp the greeting onto Whisper white, punch out using the Sweetheart punch, sponge the edges and add the pearls. mount using Dimensionals.
Using Fabulous Florets stamp 9 large flowers, 9 small flowers and 9 leaves using VersaMark and white embossing powder. Heat emboss.
Colour the backs of the flowers with Pretty In Pink and the leaves with Certainly Cellery.
Now comes the fun part. All of the flowers and leaves need to be fussy cut and layered using glue dots the middle layer of the flowers only has 3 petals to show the underneath and the top layer is missing the very back petals. The bees were stamped on Whisper White and acetate and fussy cut removing the wings from the W.W. The wings from the acetate are cut keeping the center piece together so they are in one piece. They are then bent upwards and glued to the body of the bees which are coloured with Daffodil Delight.
The butterfly is stamped onto Whisper Whit once and on Vellum twice. Cut the body from the whisper white and the wings from the vellum using StazOn Black and  colour the back of the vellum with Wisteria Wonder. now just assemble the card and you will have a beautiful card to give that special someone. I used glue dots for the bees and butterfly and dimensionals for the flowers.
Lots of instructions to follow but the end result is worth it. Happy Stampin'

These are my interpretation of Hershi kisses Easter bunnies. I saw these adorable little bunnies on FB this morning and a huge thanks to Bernice Collins     http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/creativeedge/blog?directBlogUrl=%2Fblog%2F4007579%2Fentry%2Fhershey_bunny

for coming up with a pattern for them. Little Hershi kisses fit inside the triangles in the body. The originals came from -Brenda Quintana- qbeesquest.com. Really quick and easy to make as well. The embellishments took longer than the bunnies themselves. Thanks for dropping by my blog.Feel free to leave me a comment. Happy stampin'.

See the link for instructions below.

Just Add Ink challenge 255   http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com.au/  "Just Add Eggs or Ovals"
These are the 2 entries I added to this weeks challenge.
The 1st one is a DIY Berry basket I saw on Papercraft Button. LINK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kKXkZ1iF9A

I added the slit holes using the labels punch (retired). Stamped the outside using the Hardwood stamp. The bunny is punch art. Tulips are from the Backyard Basics stamp set now sadly retired. I have cut multiple layers and coloured them. when they were dry I covered them with crystal effects.
The second entry is a Scalloped oval double easel card.
Things I used:
Elegant Lines embossing Folder, Ovals framelits, Scallop boarder punch (retired) 1 1/4 and 1 3/4 scalloped circle punches and Pearls, Island Indigo ink pad for sponged edges. The brad is one from the past, the word love is supported using a piece of thick acetate and glue dots and the word Love is from a friends die not sure where it is from.
If you like my creations please leave me a comment. Thanks for looking and happy stampin'.

I saw Elaine make a tripple easel card and decided to give it a go. This is the result.

I made this Card in a Box as an entry to a colour challenge. I don't own the colours they listed so I went ahead and used the closest I had. I'm waiting to hear back if they will accept my entry then I will add the link. It is amazing the change of colour when you heat emboss. All of the orange card stock was the same colour to start with I just embossed the petite flowers.
Colours I used: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Sarah Sand and Whisper white.
I embossed the Always Artichoke background with Spring Floweres embossing folder. The Old Olive leaves were cut using Little Leaves and outlined with Always Artichoke. Small flowers are Petite Petals then the matching punch was used to cut them. I then Versamarked and using clear embossing powder, heat embossed them. The butterflies are suspended using very stiff acetate.
Ribbon is Old Olive (now retired)
Butterflies are Papillion Potpourri and Elegant Butterfly punch.
The brad is from the Antique Brads collection and I added a little Linen thread.
These take a long time to make but they are lots of fun.
The dimensions for this card are 15cm x 29.5cm. Score @ 7cm, 14cm,21cm, and 28cm turn and score the full length @ 7cm . Just a tip only fold down the sides and front, don't fold down the back panel as you need it to stand up I always add another layer of embossed card stock or a layer of DSP anyway and also a long panel of white or vanilla to the outside of the back to write on.
 Happy Stampin'
Entry accepted by Just Add Ink go to the link and join in the fun.  http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com.au/
Yeah! I was awarded the winner of this challenge very happy. Thanks to all of the JAI team.
